CYTC summer school a roaring success

posted 31 Aug 2010

We held our inaugural CYTC Musical Theatre Summer School from 2 to 6 August and were so impressed.

Twenty-one young perfomers turned up on Monday morning and after a week of drama, dance, singing and African drumming, were able to present their version of The Lion King to their friends and families on Friday afternoon.

The African drumming really created the atmosphere and Chris Horlock's stunning make-up helped to add to the brilliant characterisations.

Tutors, Niki, Ellen, Jan, Matt and Claire had a fabulous week and were really impressed with all the young performers who worked incredibly hard throughout the week showing great discipline and talent.

What the performers said:

"it was professional and it wasn't all focused on one subject it had a bit of dance drama and singing all of which I really enjoyed."

"The singing tutor Ellen was very supportive and helpful."

"I really enjoyed the drama and thought you gave great advice."

"I enjoyed doing the dance warm ups with Niki as they weren't too long or short!!"

"I liked the day of the performance, the atmosphere and putting the make-up on."

"I enjoyed the singing dancing and acting and making new friends. It was soooo much fun."
